SP Value Calculation for low molecular(Chemical)

It is an application that can calculate the SP value of low molecular weight compounds from density, boiling point, molecular weight, and the number of OH groups. The solubility parameter (SP value) is an index of solubility. This app currently supports "Japanese", "English", and "Chinese".

◆ This is an example of a calculation using 1-hexanol.

For hexanol, the density is 0.8153 g/cm³, the boiling point is 157 ° C, the molecular weight is 102.17 g/mol, and the number of OH groups is 1.

(1) Enter the density, boiling point, molecular weight, and the number of OH groups in the application.

(3) The SP value is 20.8.

There are many ways to calculate the SP value. Since the SP value is a measure of the intermolecular force between molecules, the SP value derived from the density, boiling point, molecular weight, and the number of OH groups is relatively accurate.

On the other hand, for high molecular weight polymers with no boiling point, another application is used for the calculation. For high molecular weight polymers of known molecular structure, the SP value can be calculated using the Fedors theory.

When mixing two solvents, if the SP values are close, they will be mixed uniformly, but if the SP values are separated like water or oil, they will be separated into two layers.

Similarly, if the SP value of the solute is close to the SP value of the solvent, it will dissolve uniformly, but if the SP values are far apart, the solute will not dissolve.
